A Small Business Review The Pros & Cons Of 5linx

From the Desktop of Stephanie Robey, Internet Entrepreneur

Why Read This 5Linx Review?

I am NOT a distributor or an employee of this company. I have an MBA and have spent many years learning things the hard way that eventually led me to be an expert in this industry. I have over 2 decades entrepreneurial experience in various businesses, primarily start-ups and am writing this so you can make your own decision about 5Linx as a business opportunity.

5Linx provides technology through a traditional Network Marketing business model. I see a huge opportunity for distributors in this company and will tell you exactly why at the end of this review.

Any business start-up will require your money and your time. Lots of both. MLMs are unique in that the startup costs are considerably less than say, a franchise, or a start-up. Never the less, you’ll need a mindset for success and the ability to really focus and get things done on your own.

The company has a sensible management team and a great compensation plan. I believe there are opportunities here to make a decent income if you understand how to market this company utilizing new technologies and marketing systems.

Read below for specific details.

Review of Pros & Cons

Reputation

No glaring complaints jumped out in regards to the company. There were several distributors online that had switched to other companies with similar product lines but all were professionally handled with no “word slinging”.

Looking online at the FTC (Federal Trade Commission) site revealed no outstanding complaints, either. The Better Business Bureau (BBB) in Rochester, NY, showed dozens of complaints, all resolved. No government action or ad infringements currently existed against the company.

Years In Business

According to the BBB, the company has been in business since January, 2001. It’s always good to go with a company that has been established for a few years because statistics show most businesses will fail in their first 12 months.

5Linx Review: Management

The Company has a well-rounded team that encompasses each area of the business: cellular sales, product development and direct marketing. Sales expertise is always helpful and this team has it. Companies lacking sales aren’t in business for long. The sales criteria is met with this company.

Craig Jerabeck, CEO and President has been with the company since 2001. With a background in cellular sales at the retail level and plenty of management experience, Mr. Jerabeck is an excellent choice for this entrepreneurial venture.

Jeb Tyler, Executive Vice President – Marketing, holds a degree in Business Administration focused on Marketing but the corporate website says very little about his experience elsewhere. Mr. Jerabeck’s experience probably compliments Jeb’s.

Jason Guck, Exec VP of Sales, has experience in the direct marketing industry, critical for the distribution method the team has chosen. Mr. Guck has had years of success building sales orgainzations.

5Linx Review: Financial Stability

At the time of this writing, the company is privately held and listed on INC 500 as one of the fastest growing companies in the country. Not a bad sign. Growth has been over 800% in a 3 year period.

5Linx Review: Products

Wireless Phones and Accessories, Internet and Long Distance Services plus High Speed Internet and Satelliet TV make up the company’s product line. VoIP calling plans comprise the most popular of their services. I found no complaints about the quality of their products or services.

5Linx Review: Competition

This market has a lot of competition with familiar brand names which could make it difficult to convince people to switch. However, positioned properly with the ability to identify prospects, this could be a lucrative opportunity. Today, everyone uses phone services.

5Linx Review: Compensation Plan

This is a traditional MLM direct marketing model. You can earn money when you sign on new distributors to work the business as well as a residual income when customers pay their monthly bill for services. There’s also a monthly profit sharing bonus pool.

Plus, the top producers also get a leased BMW and benefits similar to traditional corporate executives like vacation time, health care and others bonuses. The top level also receives a car upgrade to a Bentley and more profit sharing.

Opportunities start at $99 (limited) and increase to $499.

5Linx Review: Leadership

The biggest disappointment about the business is that they are still using the old-school methods of marketing: the 3 foot rule, home and hotel meetings, personally contacting people. Interesting, considering they are selling such a high tech product.

Remember, you need a lot of people looking at your opportunity daily, in order to reach the goal of one new sign-up per day. Take a look at the top producers. Interview them and sit in on one of their trainings. How do they market and train their team? Look for a “blueprint”, or a “system” that will get you started step-by-step.

See Training below.

5Linx Review: Training

Marketing materials, group trainings conferences and calls are provided at both the local and national level. This is pretty typical of MLM companies. They pitch the “old school” style of marketing and it’s the #1 reason people fail: chasing prospects and attempting to convince them that they want your offering. This is a difficult way to work the market and strange considering the products they sell.

On the Internet, you’ll be able to get between fify and 200 leads, daily. That’s actually, several hundred people per day, looking at your opportunity. Physically talking to that many people is tough and that is the beauty of the Internet where they come to you. People will actually flock to YOU.

Massive Income Awaits 5Linx Distributors

Leverage the Internet. The big questions – where is it people shop when they purchase electronics? ONLINE. This is a great business, expecially when the products are sold via Attraction Marketing and the Internet. The distributor who uses the Internet for their business will dominate the market in a matter of months and that’s exactly why I put together this website.

No more:
Home and hotel meetings
Approaching strangers
Burning out your friends and family

Instead, powerful online sales funnels:
People help themselves to the information on your website
They buy online from you, any time day or night.

I’ve done it for my business and many, many others. I can teach you the same exact things that I did.

Entrepreneur Ignores Advice bumps Head On Da White Meat

The holiday season is the time to really escape the pressures of daily work schedules and really treasure time off with family and friends. For many entrepreneurs, its also a time of reflection on the life and business lessons learned over the previous 12 months. The biggest challenge in moving forward and making fresh breakthroughs for the New Year is deciphering it all and getting a fresh Key Perspective – a 360 degree perspective which includes determining what areas are your strengths and what areas you may need to seek advice and/or assistance in. With regards to getting business assistance, it is equally important in determining when, where, and how to receive it.

how to become a successful entrepreneur

A few years ago on a holiday trip back to my home town of Little Rock, Arkansas, I was able to spend a little quality time with family and some old friends. One day I found myself in a room with my rambunctious, 3-year-old nephew while others were in another part of the house. Perhaps happy and overjoyed to see me or on a sugar-induced escapade, he began jumping on the bed and bumping off the walls. Instinctively, I say to him something that my granddad would have said to me at that age. I said, Boy, keep that up and youll fall flat and bust your head right down to the white meat.

He pauses for a moment, stares curiously as if he just heard an odd foreign language, and then quickly returns to his super-hyperactivity running into another part of the house. Less than 10 minutes later, I hear a loud CRASH-Kabooom!! Immediately followed by crying. Within a few minutes, my nephew slowly walks back into the room rubbing both eyes and sits next to me. Softly and slowly he says, Uncle Ricky, I bump my head on da white meat.

Trying to hold in a good chuckle, I replied; Well, maybe not down to the white meat this time, but, what have we learned here?

Meet Our business development consultant Expert online at https://www.linkedin.com/in/dereklharris

As a business adviser, analyst, and mentor, Ive encountered this same scenario many times before. Not with three-year-olds, but mostly with young twenty and thirty-something entrepreneurs and a few middle-aged business owners as well. Usually because of our egos, pride and/or do-it-yourself tendencies, we sometimes ignore the good advice and/or business assistance available to us. And it sometimes takes a few bumps and lumps to get through to us. Believe me, as a young business owner in the 80s and 90s; Ive certainly had my share.

But as you mature into a successful entrepreneur and possibly into a Breakthrough Entrepreneur, you begin to learn from other peoples failures and mistakes and trust the expertise of others. You also begin to see the true value of outside assistance through advice, education and training. Youll even be able to translate those into measurable returns on investment. Of course no one person can know everything, be qualified to do everything, and/or keep up-to-date with all the details of your business. So thats why being able to filter, discern, and utilize the assistance of others is an essential skill you should develop. So, how do you go about getting the right business assistance?

Frame Your Business Problems, Dilemmas, and/or Ideas

Framing the Business Problem, Dilemma and/or Idea should always be your first step in finding the right answers and best solutions. When working with a client or mentee, I usually request that they follow a similar format to the one below to save on time and add clarity to the discussion.
Each question, problem, or dilemma should be written with pencil and paper in 1-2 paragraphs and in 5 sentences or less. They should answer these following questions:

What are the main objectives or ultimate goals for your business?
What are the backgrounds and core competencies of you and your business team?
What is the problem or dilemma and its background or history within your business?
What do YOU think are possible solutions?
What are the effects of each solution implemented 6-12 months down the road?

Its okay if you cant answer them all. It’s just an indication that you need help defining the problem or idea. This is more common than you think. If fact, as an executive business analyst, Ive met with several business owners that would often discuss what they thought were problems of their businesses. However, put under a microscope those problems turned out to be symptoms of a much deeper problem below the surface. In the complexities of business, it can be easy to mistake a symptom for a problem. Framing helps business owners and entrepreneurs think more deeply, focus, and begin to clarify. A wrong question never gets the right answer.

Determine what type of Business Assistance you need.

When framing, it is very important to think long and hard about what your life + business challenges are and how they relate to one another. Once youre clear on what questions you want and need answered, then youll be more apt to determine what type of assistance is actually needed. Usually it boils down to three types:

Business Advice
Business Skill-set Acquisition or Training
Business Education
Ive always said that some people just need advice; others need to acquire & develop skill-sets, while others may need a whole new level of education.

Consider the Source or Pathways to Potential Solutions

Living in the information age, there are a variety of sources from which you can find solutions. The following are the basic pathways:

Inexperienced personal acquaintances & friends people who are often inexperienced in the subject matter but have no shortage of advice. Usually it involves something theyve heard someone else say or claim they have done.
Mass media sourcessuch as the Internet, social media, books, blogs, print, television, and radio. This is often the easiest and cheapest way to get educational assistance, but because there is so much information, it can be overwhelming and sometimes hard to determine what or who to follow.
Experienced personal acquaintances & friends people who are experienced in certain matters, but are not engaged as a professional in your particular business or industry. They might offer some very good pearls of wisdom, but youll have to tailor the assistance they offer to your own situation.
Experienced professionals people who are experienced in the subject matter and can engage with you one-on-one to address the specific needs of your business. You can get advice, skill-set training, and education from this option. Most people consider it the most expensive route, but it really depends on what your intended outcome is. Most times, it offers the greatest ROI.

Evaluate which Resources Works best for Your Situation

You should further consider the following before determining which best serves your needs.

Complexity of the issue Is the issue too far outside your area of expertise? How serious are the consequences of making a wrong move or decision?
Implementation Is the solution difficult or time intensive to implement? If you implement the solution yourself, will there be any further implementations needed that affect your bottom line, customers expectations or other business operations?
Impact What is the potential impact if you do or dont heed the advice, acquire a skill-set, and/or educate yourself on a particular subject matter?
Price How much will the assistance cost versus its return on investment?

Once youve gone over all of the considerations, youre ready to move forward accordingly. But a word of caution: you should never think of getting business assistance as an exact science, no matter where you get it from. Because we live in a world of constant change, we have to manage and think in terms of probabilities. You should constantly and consistently monitor the outcomes and results of the business assistance you receive or act upon. To minimize risk, you should always take your time and review multiple sources and weigh the differences. Eventually, youll find resources that you trust and people with whom you can develop strong, mutually-beneficial business relationships.

Still, for most business owners and young entrepreneurs, reaching out for help for your business is usually a hard thing to do, but take heed to the advice here: If you keep going down the path of entrepreneurship and ignore the plethora of valuable business assistance available to you, you will inevitably bump your head.

And for the really stubborn: Youll see the real value of this only after you fall flat and bust your head right down to the white meat.

Well, maybe not right down to the white meat.

Are you considering (or ignoring) some type of business advice, skill-set training or business education that may resolve a nagging business problem or dilemma? Do you have a particular experience youd like to share? If this article been helpful let me know. Id love to hear your thoughts. Please leave a comment below.

Happy Holidays and Cheers to Your Fresh Breakthroughs!

Why Should You Be A Christian And An Entrepreneur

You should be a Christian entrepreneur. Did you ever wonder why some Christian is poor and some rich? We also see non-Christian rich and poor. Why is that? I conclude that religion obviously does not determine your wealth status. Then what determines your poor or rich condition?

I believe each person largely contributes to his or her condition. You can elect to be stay the way you are, stay in the same job. Or you can elect to get out of where you are and work towards becoming better with your wealth and riches, regardless of whether you are a Christian or not.

I take it that you are a Christian if you are reading this blog. I demand that you study the book of proverbs and take notes about poor and rich. Take note that laziness is what determines your condition. To be a Christian entrepreneur takes effort and time.

Many are lazy in sticking to a job because doing business is difficult and may demand more effort, time, and money. Therefore, they give up and try other gimmicks like giving to TV prosperity teachers. They demand that you give to them in order to prosper. Their teaching is not sound. It encourages laziness and lack of initiative on your part. Giving to ministries and churches does not guarantee any income if you are lazy.

Do not get me wrong, I do encourage people to give to God. You should never give as a means to get wealthy. Give to God as a token of your thankfulness and helping the poor. You are steward of your money so be generous to the needy. As a Christian entrepreneur, you can help so many.

In order to fulfill the biblical mandate to be fruitful and multiply, we have to be more than an employee. We should strive to start a business as part time to start with. Do not waste your time going to church all days of the week. Sunday is good enough. Other days work hard and achieve for you wealth and riches.

The reason you should become a Christian entrepreneur is not just for wealth. It is what God has promised to us. The Lord God gives you the power to get wealth. You have to get it. God wants you to be a blessing to others. You have to help with your riches others in need.

God blesses you through your efforts and you flow that blessing to others in need. Remember you cannot be a blessing to others if you are poor. You will always be begging from others and be in debt all the days of your life. That is not Gods will for you. Become a Christian entrepreneur and be a blessing.

How The Sa 8000 And Other Standards Are Shaking Up The Fashion Industry

Environmental, social and ethical pressures on the global textiles and fashion sector emerged in Europe in the early 1980s. The main driver was consumer concern over the safety of the materials. However, in parallel with this trend, a minority group of ethical consumers demanded chemical-free and low environmental impact clothing and fashion goods. This resulted in the European and later the U.S. organic labeling system being extended to include criteria for clothing and textiles, such as organic cotton. As of 2007, the sector was the fastest growing part of the global cotton industry with growth of more than 50% a year. Regarding safety standards, the Oeko-Tex standard has become highly popular in the industry. Although unknown to consumers, it tests for chemicals such as flame retardants in clothes and categorizes goods according to their likely exposure to humans (e.g. baby clothes must adhere to the strictest standards for chemicals). Thus the issue of chemicals in clothing has become largely one of liability risk control for the industry with the consumers obviously expecting products to pose no risk to their health. Organic and eco fashion and textiles attracts a far smaller, but fast growing group of consumers, largely in Western Europe and Coastal U.S.

Of far greater concern to the global fashion sector is the issue of worker welfare. The issue was highlighted by pressure groups such as
Global Exchange in the U.S. targeting Levis and Nike and others.
In the late 1980s and early 1990s anecdotal evidence began emerging from labor activists in the U.S. and Europe concerning the supply chains and overseas factories of leading U.S. and European multinationals. A key target was the world’s leading maker of denim jeans Levi Strauss, but more significantly Nike, the world’s largest sports shoe marketing firm. Global Exchange launched its Nike Anti Sweatshop campaign, focusing on the firms sourcing in China and Indonesia.

A good deal of negotiations and stakeholder meetings led to a generally accepted code of practice for labor management in developing countries acceptable to most parties involved. The SA 8000 emerged as the leading industry driven voluntary standard on worker welfare issues. SA 8000 supporters now include the GAP, TNT and others and SAI reports that as of 2008, almost 1 million workers in 1,700 facilities have achieved SA 8000 certification. The Fair Trade movement has also had a significant impact on the fashion business. The standard combines a number of ethical issues of potential concern to consumers environmental factors, fair treatment of developing country suppliers and worker welfare. The Fair Trade label has show explosive growth.

Albeit on a very small scale and not always at the top end of the fashion industry, many niche brands have emerged which promote themselves primarily on sustainability grounds. People Tree in the UK states that it creates Fair Trade and organic clothing and accessories by forming lasting partnerships with Fair Trade, organic producers in developing countries. Leading fashion journal Marie Claire ranked its top 10 eco brands in a recent issue. The key issues remain chemicals in clothing (certified by organic and Fair Trade labels), worker treatment (certified by SA 8000 and Fair Trade) and increasingly mainstream environmental issues such as climate change. The worlds largest fashion brand Louis Vuitton recently acquired a small eco fashion label. It is clear, however, from the example of Nike and Levis, that certain issues are here to stay, such as a demand by Western consumers that leading brands manage the issue of worker welfare in their supply chain properly.
